What's on the horizon, January

Once again it's time for a "what's on the horizon" update. Here, we talk about what features we're currently working on - and what you can expect in the future.

[url=/forum/topics/481194]As pointed out earlier[/url], we will work on improving existing features during the first months of 2009. Instead of focusing on new features, we will improve the popular existing ones. The goal is the to improve the overall general user experience as much as we possibly can.

[b]Update process[/b] In the past we often released a high number of features packed in few major updates. The high number of new features was often directly proportional with the number of new bugs! During the last couple of months we have restructured the software architecture of the game, so that we now are able to release more updates, with fewer features. This mean we should no longer experience these "bug bursts" that the large updates brought us. The transition between each version of the game will also be more gradient, thus resulting in fewer unexpected consequences of new features.

[b]Retirement system[/b] The current retirement system has a few flaws that need to be corrected. This will be done as soon as possible. A description of the solution will be published later this week. Of course, we will ensure that the transition to the fixed system will be as gentle as possible.

[b]Scout[/b] The scout is one of those features that just needs to be improved. We're planning on rewriting it from scratch in a new and better concept. The designing and brainstorming process has already begun - [url=/forum/topics/491400]share your thoughts on our proposals[/url]! Implementation of this feature will start in around two weeks.

[b]Mail[/b] The game's internal mail system is a heavily used feature. However, it has not been updated for ages. Thus, we think it is time to give this part of the game a major update! This will be done during February.

[b]Tactics[/b] The same goes for the tactics page. We would like to improve this page so that it will be easier for the manager to get an overview of the club's players.

[b]Player wages[/b] As a part of a larger optimization of the economic cash flow in Virtual Manager, the player wage system will be revised. This primarily concerns top clubs, who might face higher wages in the future. This is scheduled to be implemented late February/early March.

[b]Better service/support/anti cheating[/b] The last couple of months we have focused on improving our crew's internal interface. This work will be continued. Our goal is to improve the user support/service and anti cheating effort in the long term.

[b]Focus[/b] During design and implementation of the above mentioned features we would always like to hear your thoughts and ideas. We will regularly post updates/descriptions/screenshots for you to comment on.

[b]Bugs[/b] Also, we currently focus a lot on fixing bugs in the game. If you experience something you think is a bug, [url=/forum/int/bugs]please post it in the bugs forum[/url]. Thank you!
