Prizes and sponsor bonus postponed. Promotions can

126594 Rasmus Rønn Nielsen, The Dudes 19 June 2011, 21:35

I'm afraid we have some bad news. As you might have noticed, we recently added "bot teams" to Virtual Manager. That is, clubs controlled by server bots. The cool thing about bot teams, is that new users can take over an existing club instead of creating a new one from scratch when signing up for Virtual Manager.

This let new users play league matches from day one, instead of having to wait until next season.

This feature however, have caused some bugs in the season update: the leagues did not "finalize" correctly:
No league prizes have been awarded. No liga history have registered. No league trophies have been given. No sponsor bonuses have been awarded. No relegations/promotions.
Thanks to our backup procedure we can fix all but one of these problems: We cannot perform this season's relegations/promotion. These are all cancelled.

We're very sorry for this - but unfortunately it is not possible for us to fix this.

The good news is that all clubs that did not end 1st of 2nd will eventually get everything they are entitled to (awards, bonuses, etc.).

Clubs that should've been promotod will receive an appropriate Credits compensation.

The fixes for these bugs will take some time to craft and execute. We expect everything will be fixed tomorrow afternoon. However, it may happen as late as Tuesday. We will do everything we can to fix everything as fast as possible.

Of course, we will also make sure this does not happen next Sunday.

I was not one of the promoted or relegated teams, but will those that achieved a promotion receive extra compensation due to ticket revenue they would have gained this season no longer being received? Not sure how it would work for relegated teams, but I was just wondering for their sake.

Thank you for updating us on the situation also smiley

Yes I saw, thank you very much smiley What will happen to those that were relegated, as surely their revenue should be less, but as they are gaining the same amount this will give them an unfair advantage over lower teams? Sorry this will probably be very unpopular, but it is a bit unfair that teams that shouldn't be in the same league get equal revenue and get more than the teams they should be in the same league with.

What do you consider a valid amount of compensation ??

If you are going to be fair then it should be the 1st place money plus 15 x the increased gate revenue, you should aslo promote the team next week irrespective of their position this week !!!

Just wondering, would it be possible to postpone the start of the season until its fixed and just play the cup games? More matches per day from say wednesday but maybe rejigging the various cup competitions so that more rounds played monday tuesday to balance it out?

Just seems a shame for so many managers to miss out by having to cancel their promotions.

32000 Tom, Nuneaton Rejects 19 June 2011, 22:24
Absolutely pathetic ! I bought a few players in the run in to ensure I got promoted knowing full well I'd be very lucky to get any sort of profit out of them but feeling a place in division 2 was worth the loss of credits, now I find I'm stuck in division 3 still utterly ridiculous. I'd like a refund on all the players I bought specifically to push me into second place, was rather looking forward to a nice season in divison two and I had in fact invested 6.3 million in a striker to help me stay afloat... awful show.

I actually really like this idea, gives you time to get everything back on track and stops people complaining and asking for compensation. Complete the cups now, allow time for friendlies and so on and it and the whole problem will be solved. Not sure how so many matches will be crammed in, but I think this idea could be worth a shot; good shout smiley

what about the likelihood of teams that would have stayed up after promotion and the money they would have made over the next two or three seasons? plus the amount of sponsors lost for those seasons, all together that could have been about 500,000 for teams my size. it could be enough to upgrade training grounds when added to what they have saved

I think that you are pushing it a bit far now.

If they are capable of staying in a higher division then they are capable of finishing in the top 2 of the current division again. Therefore they are oly at a loss for 1 season, for which they will already be compensated.

if your teams good enough to stay up then it can easily be promoted this season and then it will be in the rightful league to see if they can stay up

plus i dont see how you have come to a figure of 500,000 for a team your size, i probably wouldn't come to that figure at my size
you probably could raise your ticket only by one (if not already at max) so that is only an extra 1,916 a game so that would be only 28,740 more credits a season, and thats only if you sell out every game, then as for sponsors maximum i would say you could get at a maximum is 18,812 so together you have missed out on less than 50,000
no where near the 500,000 you have claimed, not even 10% of it

We have now paid a compensation to every club that was supposed to be promoted, but wasn't.

The size of the compensation for each club is a calculation based on how much more the clubs in the league above them earn on average, and how much each affected club earned last season.

So, if the clubs in the division above you earn on average 200% more than in your current division, and you earned 100.000 credits in prizes, ticket sales and sponsorships, then your compensation will be 200.000 credits.

Each affected club has received a message with with details of how their individual compensation amount was calculated.

you could sign a deal coz you wasn't affected and do it as normal

people being promoted had to lower their bonus requirement as they would be seeded near the bottom and visa versa for relegation

i had mine rejected because of this
i asked 70,000 base, 35,000 bonus and then requirement was from 13-15 (different for each sponsor)
my asking price was even less than what i could of got maximum i just rounded it down to get a nice round number
but because i didn't get promoted im seeded towards the top so therefore way above what i ask for my requirements resulting in rejection
