Euro 2012 campaign, version 2

As you've probably noticed, we unfortunately made a stupid mistake in our Euro campaign which was uploaded Friday. We discovered the error short after uploading, and we quickly deactivated the entire campaign. You can read our blog post about the error for more information.
The error was in how we communicated with Facebook. Our solution was a bit too naïve. In practice it simply did not work for most users. The error could be resolved but that would require quite some development time. And honestly, we'd rather focus on spending our development resources on improving the game than on campaigns.
As a result, we decided to simplify the campaign instead.
In the new version, the only benefit/reward of sharing the message about the Euro Starter Pack is that you'll help your friends and/or us.

We are aware that this means, that a small part of all users have gotten an offer others haven't. We're sorry about this. But overall, we believe that it is in the interest of the majority of users that we prioritize working on actual game improvements, such as the new match simulator.
We hope you'll help your friends and us by spreading the message about the Euro 2012 Starter Pack on Facebook :-)
None of the above affects those of you who shared the Euro Starter Pack with your frieds Friday. If you did not receive your reward then, you should write support if you haven't already. We'll make sure you get the reward you were promised. Please be patient when waiting for a reply, thanks.
And I hope you'll England vs. France (I have 150 points on a draw :P)

Sorry you feel that way. How can you conclude that we do not think about consequences just because we missed one?
Have you never missed a consequence? I'm sure you have. Does that mean I conclude that you think like a child and never think about the consequences? No, of course I can't.

If you could make time to create rewards for version 1, why can't you make time to create rewards for version 2.
the people who invited their friends with version1 will gain big, and others who invited their friends in version2 won't gain when they have done exactly the same thing.
I know you guys try to do your best, but in this case you have got it wrong IMO by not making it fair for all.

For it to work, we had to spend a lot of time making an actual state-full Facebook Connect implementation. That would take a lot of time if it were to be done right. And we're not willing to sacrifice that much time on this project.
As I expressed in the blog post I totally agree that it is very unfair that someone gets an offer others don't. We're not proud of this.
But the alternatives are just even worse.
Do you think we should completely pause all game development just because a very small percentage (1-2%) of the users got a fairly small advantage in the game?

I did raise a ticket about this and was basically told "tough shit" great customer service guys!!
1 other point you may want to address (not a complaint as such as I won't be back) is your bias towards the european timezone, if you want to be a global game then 24 hour trading and playing is needed. As a resident in asia most of my games are played in the middle of the night leaving me unable to change things between games and 50% of my day it's impossible to trade while everyone else can while I sleep
