Adjusting the conversion of player abilities

Rasmus Rønn Nielsen, The Dudes 23 April 2013, 11:39

As some of you might've noticed, we've adjusted how the old player abilities are being converted to new ones. Actually, we have made a bunch of small tweaks. Here, I'll go through the more important ones.

The scale is expanded from 30-100 to 0-100.

320 in the old system now corresponds to 100 in the new. Few players have abilities above 320. All stats above 320 will be transferred to other abilities. We choose the most important abilities first according to the players' position.

Example: A forward has a dribling skill of 380. In the new system, this corresponds to 119. We'll cap this at 100. The remaining 19 will be used to boost his other abilities. For a forwarder this will for instance be finishing because this is important to a forward.

Besides this, we've always adjusted the weightings for how the old abilities corresponds to the new ones. For example, determination now has a greater impact on the keeper stats, such as "one on on" and "diving".

Last but not least, we've adjusted the calculation of the players' overall rating. For example, passing and stamina now weighs more for midfielders than previously.
