Transition to the new match simulator

Bubbles, FC Sunnyvale Developer 15 December 2013, 16:29

As you know, we'll be switching over to the new match simulator tomorrow. This means that the season update tonight will be a somewhat special.

This will be the last season update, where we use the old matches to calculate the season's results.

However, we will not be doing all of the necessary updates tonight.

Things will look strange until Monday noon / afternoon

There are tons of pages and features that need to be replaced or updated, in order to fully support the new match simulator.

These updates are ready to go, but we don't want to upload such a large update on a Sunday evening, in case something goes wrong.

Therefore, the updates will not be uploaded until Monday morning, to ensure we are rested and ready to correct any bugs that might occur.

This means that the league pages, match schedules and many more page will not use the correct matches until some time on Monday. For example, you will see an entire season full of matches made for the old match engine. These games will NOT be played. They are only there just in case, so that we have the option to switch back to the old engine if something goes horribly wrong.

Cups will first start Monday night or Tuesday morning

It is not necessary that the cups start off first thing Monday morning, so we will not start those up until were are 100% sure that the league matches are running as planned.

When the league matches are up and running, we can then start up the cups and monitor their progress.
