This and that + VM Awards
The blog has been a bit quiet throughout November. After my last post about Project Rebalance, we were hit by illness in the development department, which has delayed things.
We've also had some boring tasks given to us by the accountant, relating to our accounting system, payment fees and VAT. This has been about as exciting as it sounds, so I'll spare you the details ;)
Translation initiative on the way
In 2017 we'll be putting more effort into translating Virtual Manager to more languages. Our translation system has been neglected for several years, and hasn't been very easy to work with. Therefore, we've given it a small refresh. Among other things, we've made sure that old, unused texts are cleaned up automatically, so that we don't waste translators' time. We now also gather statistics about how often each text is seen seen by Virtual Manager users, so that translators can start with the most often used texts and see quicker results of their work.
We've appointed a member to the role of translation coordinator and the we're planning on creating a translation forum where translators can exchange experiences and get technical assistance, and where Virtual Manager users can report spelling errors and such.
There will be a blog post with more details about this initiative at a later date.
VM Awards 2016
Again this year we'll be be having the VM Awards vote. AT VM Awards, Virtual Manager's users nominate and vote for the clubs they think deserve an award for their efforts this year.
There will be prizes for the winners, we will also draw 5 winners from among everyone who votes.
The nominations start tomorrow, December 1st at 11:00 GMT:
