Wholesale Changes

Lithualiens FC have rung the changes after a disappointing foray into Germany left fans clamouring for more quality. The three players who had occupied the top three places for most appearances made for the men from Vilnius Cathedral, goalkeeper Grantas Adakonis, right back Petras Noruisis, and centre half Ernestas Elickus, were unceremoniously shipped out in a move which allegedly had Rafael Benitez looking on with interest.

Their replacements, Tomas Andrukaitis, Justinas Skumin, and a geriatric German goalkeeper certainly appear to have improved the team on paper but their success will only be measured over the coming weeks. What is clear is that the German is only a temporary stop gap as The Aliens' top target for between the sticks is not currently available although this may change as the season gets underway. It is also suspected that this may not be the end of the spending at the club this season.

The Lithualiens FC official supporters club, Lithuanian Space Association, has backed the moves to strengthen the team and are optimistic of a title challenge now that the club are back in Division 5 Group 11 in Scotland, as well as good runs in the Scottish Cup and NCC, whilst also trying to win the inaugural One Nation Team World Cup against Dynamo Groby.
