FC Clock Face

Onwards and Upwards

As the season draws to a close we are looking forward to having something to celebrate for a change here at FC Clock Face. Since it's inception FCCF has been something of a selling club, choosing to build it's bank balance and work towards installing training facilities to be proud of.

However, two seasons ago the club made a decision to hang on to 11 promising youngsters and allow them to compete in the football leagues of Germany in an effort to gain some experience whilst at the same time bringing in some extra funds for the clubs building program.

This season, the kids have secured their second successive promotion to Division 5, a feat only achieved briefly twice before in the clubs history. On both those occasions the side came crashing quickly back down but this time around the aim is to stay there until they become strong enough to progress even further.

During the season the club has seen spectator numbers increase substantially. Gate receipts have climbed to a record 170k this season and as a result of swelling fan numbers two corner stands have been redeveloped with increased capacity. Total stadium capacity is up 480 to 1980 and we are consistently close to capacity with ticket prices at 7 C per person.

This seasons player awards where held in the phone box at the top of Clock Face road on Friday night. The winner of the prestigious 'Players Player of the Year' award this season was Oliver Prodoprigora who, with one game to go, is still in with a chance of finishing the season as the leagues top scorer.

On the financial side, the club reported a profit of 2.2 million credits this season which is satisfactory given the money spent on stadium expansion.

Finally, the club finished the season #5734 on the Vifa rankings. The goal for next season is to push through in to the top 5000, a feat never before achieved.

Asked to sum up his sides season in one word, club manager Daz Fitzgerald said, 'satisfactory'.
