Captains ceremony

Written 9 January 2018, 22:39

9.1.2018 Tapponautit captain John Mark Terry is now officially retired. The 34 years old (birthday in 3 days) English defender used the number 27 and served as the captain of the team since 15.5.2017. He played 812 matches with the team (1904 in his whole carrer, over 9 clubs) and countless friendly matches. He scored 2 goals in his carrer, both with Tapponautit. Terry got 26 assists with Tapponautit (34 in total) and was chosen as the Man of the match 43 times with Tapponautit (50 in total). During Terry's time, the club won 3 golden trophies, 5 silver trophies and 5 bronze trophies. He played his last match in a 3-1 home victory (goals from each memeber of The Trio) against COOKIE DOUGH FC. The GM of Tapponautit, Tappajanautti had his speech in the ceremony.

"It's truly a sad day for this club, and for the whole game. Today marks the end of a carrer thats really difficult to match. I remember back in May when i started rebuilding this club, I wanted to get a core player first, a player that had skill, leadership and determination. I looked around the market, and my eyes landed on this young English defender, whos name sounded familiar for some reason (wink). He seemed absolutely perfect, and the price wasnt TOO bad either (he says with a laugh). And I got just what i wanted. John, theres been fantastic players in the association of Tapponautit, but theres no doubt that you were the most skilled player this club has ever seen. Youve always given everything you have on the field, no matter what match or score it is. You have always lead the team forward. We're all very thankful for everything youve given us, we couldnt have asked for more. I hope from the bottom of my heart that you enjoyed your time here. Thank you, Captain John."

Terry's teammate, really good friend and the top scorer of Tapponautit, Atdhe Dallku wanted to have a speech aswell

"Im speaking on behalf of the entire team here. Terry. Thank you. Its been an honor to be by your side on the field. Ive always admire your work on the pitch, and outside of it. Youve always pushed us forward and given us hope. Youve been a leader, and also the backbone of our defense. Eventhought its sad to see you go, we know that you deserve this, and we will keep supporting you. Thank you so much Terry."

Of course Terry also had his speech.

"Thank you all so so very much. This is the best club ive ever been a part of, and i couldnt be more proud of you all. I was so honored to captain this team, but never felt like i was above anyone. Each player and person here is so fantastic. I wish we could keep playing forever, but at some point your legs just cant carry you anymore, and you feel like youre slowing down the whole team. So, this decision was really hard for me, but i feel like its the right thing to do. And i really apprecaite you all supporting me on this. And im not just thanking the club, but all of our fans too. You guys have made every match phenomenal. And not just our fans here in USA, but all around the world. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has suppored me, and this club. Thank you."

In the teams lineup, Terry will be replaced by 27 years old Cuban defender #12 Juan Ortiz. Ortiz has played on the spot of right defender in the youth player tactic.

At the end of the ceremony, Tappajanautti had 2 more surprise announcements.

"As you all know, the team doesnt have a captain at the moment. Well, im happy to announce that its not true, at least after this. We have came to an aggrement on a new captain. Please put your hands together for the birthday boy, and our new captain, Bryan Teetaert!"

After thunderous applause, the GM had 1 more thing to say.

"Thats not our only surprise of the night. Eventhought Terry isnt part of our team anymore, hes not gonna be gone from the club. We've come into terms with him and he will be working as a scout for the club."

We here at the press would also like to congratulate both of these gentlemen. Terry for his unbelievable carrer, and Teetaert for the capatincy.
