Parsa becomes the top scorer!

Written 19 April 2018, 12:54

On 17/4/2018 Tapponautit history was made. In a away 0-4 (1 goal from Dean Devaney) vicotry against AFC Chorlton, #10 Benjamin Parsa scored his 400th, 401st and finished off the hat trick with his 402nd goal. With this, the 31 years old Afghanistan striker broke Atdhe Dallkus record for goals scored in the clubs history. Dallku scored 401 goals in 981 matches, where for Parsa 402 goals took 964 matches. We caught him for an interview after the match:

"Im extremely happy with our play today, it was a great victory for us. I didnt really think about the record before the match, but after getting my 2nd goal, it started to come more into my mind. I didnt really let it bother my play, but i did want to hunt for the hat trick. Then i got the ball infront of the goal, turned around, saw a open space and shot there. But this is honestly a really big honor for me, and ive worked hard to get here, and couldnt have done it with all the people around me. Now my next goal is setting a record that wont be broken (he says laughing)."

The previous record holder, Parsas best friend, former teammate and current club trainer Atdhe Dallku was with the club at the match and came to greet and congratulate Parsa after the match. We caught their conversation too:

"Congratulations Ben, im so happy for you (he said hugging Parsa). I knew that you would be the one to break my record, and you definitely deserve it. What youve done for this team is something unbelievable, and i know youll keep doing it"

Parsa replied to this:

"Thanks buddy, but i couldnt have scored most of these goals without you playing alongside me. Your passes were always on point so it was easy to put the ball in (he says with a wide smile)."

The players continued talking and walked off to the dressing room, and wanted to give them some privacy.

By the time this article is written, Parsa has 410 goals in 973 matches. This achievement from him encourgaes the talk about making an exception in the teams tradition to retire only one number (Dallkus #9 was retired previously) on a run, and retiring Parsas #10 once the time comes.
