Time for change

They say when you have reached rock bottom, the only way is up. That is certainly the case with Stalybridge Celtic this season, with the club determined to turn things around.

Over the last few years, the club has bounced up and down the lower English divisions, including a brief stay in the USA too. Money has been invested frequently but with so few results, we are questioning ourselves on a very frequent basis. They also say to leave the past in the past and look ahead to the future. We as a football club are determined to change our fortunes and to turn our situation around. Currently, we sit as a stable mid-table team in the 6th division of English football, a place in which we are not satisfied with. As we are aware, the fans have began to grow tiresome of this old, repetitive standard of football, yet they continue to support us in large numbers. It is time for us to change and it is our promise as a football club that we will.
The year is still fresh and we have many ambitions in which we are willing to fulfill. We aim to become a division 4 club by the end of the year. This will be an extremely difficult and challenging objective, yet we have never been so ambitious and confident. To do this, we plan to invest a sensible amount of credits on talented and experienced players. In addition, we are also going to focus on bringing in more youth players, training them up with upgraded facilities.

In order for us to grow, we will do everything to avoid poor investment. The poor decisions in some cases have hindered our growth. However recently, we believe that we are now making correct and solid choices regarding stability and growth. We as a football club will work hard for our fans and our friends in 2018 because it really is true, the only way is up!
