Stalybridge battled to a 1-1 draw with Firatakar last night, preventing them from having the 'perfect' season. Before the game, the opposition had won every league game this season, earning themselves top spot in the league and imminent promotion chances. However, we were not going to let that deter us from trying to stop them.
It looked like the same old story when Firatakar went ahead on the 74th minute, with Alonso Diego beaten by a fantastic long shot by Chilhaajav Baljd. However, just 9 minutes later Pwyll Lucas drew level, giving rise to tremendous celebration. The result, however not the win we desired, helps us in our challenge for promotion and puts pressure on our close rivals in the league. The spirit and the determination seen recently in the squad has been excellent and is exactly what was required. We look forward to the remainder of the campaign and will continue with our push for promotion.
