Lads On Tour 1-5 Crawley Town

Written 8 April 2018, 02:12

As the season came to a close, Crawley played their final friendly of the season in Sweden. Crawley had scored just 8 goals in all competitions this season (3 of which came in an automatic 3-0 win), and the 586 travelling fans would not have been expecting much.
The game didn’t start well for the reds. A freekick in the 7th minute was played into the area and after the reds’ failed to clear their lines, Matias Christensen hit home to put Lads On Tour in front. 1-0
From that point onwards however, it was Crawley who dominated. They were pushing for an equaliser and their determination showed when Arndor Hermannsson hit a shot from the edge of the box and it nestled into the top left hand corner, giving the Striker his first goal of the season. 1-1
Crawley didn’t stop there though. Ove Alfstad played a pass towards recent signing Ramon Arancibia, who cut inside from the left, and from 25 yards out, unleashed a curling effort which stormed into the bottom right hand corner, giving Crawley a 2-1 lead. 1-2
With not long to go until half time, top goalscorer Sefton Bradford dribbled past 2 opposing players, before slotting in another goal for Crawley (Again outside the box). 1-3
Into the second half, and Crawley continued to pile pressure at the opposition goal, and in the 66th minute, former Iron FC winger Ramon Arancibia got his second goal of the game and gave Crawley 4 goals for the first time this season. 1-4
With 7 minutes remaining, Crawley looked to get a 5th and got it after Hermes Camrioga’s shot rebounded off the the calf of Priba Menzel, allowing Arndor Hermannsson to tap into an empty net for his second of the game. 1-5

At the end of the game, Joseph Sharp and all the players went over to thank the travelling fans for sticking by the team; despite one of the worst ever seasons for the club.
