Final Whistle

The second coming of Catalin Pancu

Written 10 April 2020, 22:31

Our club decided to take advantage of the surplus cash after the stadium upgrade to bring back our first talent produced by the club's youth academy : https://www.virtualmanager.com/players/13401328-catalin-pancu

In a surprising move that took fans by surprise, 26yo Catalin Pancu returned to the place he likes to call home for the high price of 2.75M having a rating of 53 when he joined, he quickly took advantage of our much improved training facilities and jumped a level, reaching 54 within a few days.

Tough at this level he may become a reserve player for some of the matches, in a short while( 1-2 months) he could challenge for a first team place.

He enjoyed a previous spell while our club was chasing the LTF upgrade and selling him was part of our club's improvement strategy as declared in a previous press release:

Having achieved that upgrade and more, we felt it was the time to give him another boost and hopefully have him retire in our club depending on the circumstances. However in pursuing WCTF as a long term goal he might yet again find himself switching clubs if finances demand it. We have only a few talents come out of the club, we will try and bring some back but for the moment the club's finances are dangerously low following the increase in VIFA rank and salary but poor results and poor match income as a consequence. In what was expected to be the most glorious season so far it turns out we're fighting to survive the relegation battle.

Will we make it? Who knows, but we'll stay true to our goal of small improvements and hope for better luck in matches. Maybe next season it'll be better, otherwise we may change strategy and give up on 2nd division hopes and dreams and focus on the WCTF upgrade instead.

Only time will tell.
