Stadium Upgrade in progress and future plans

Written 20 November 2020, 18:00

As we hinted during our previous press conference, earlier today we have given the 'Go' for a new stadium expansion.

-12,000,000 C

The works started on the East stands (Level 4), to be upgraded to Level 5 for an additional 10200 seats, bringing the total to 38900 seats.
The investment is a big one for the team, with a cost of 12M credits which were partly obtained by selling one of the last recruited talents, Emilio Assis for one of the most profitable businesses in recent history.

Discovered by our excellent scout Jon Cochran ( https://www.virtualmanager.com/employees/11167265 ) on 26/10/2020 after a promising report:

Brought in for only 2.5M credits, he only needed 4 weeks to bring a profit of over 3.6M credits, having been sold for 6,111,112 C

On a sad note former first squad, 33yo and 75 rated Keeper, Anthonius Derk Frans ( https://www.virtualmanager.com/players/13389728-anthonius-derk-frans ) left this week for the small amount of just under 600k due to a constraint in squad space for promoting new youths. His replacement , bought for 2.2M is 28yo 74 rated Andreas Koutsoumpou ( https://www.virtualmanager.com/players/13669253-andreas-koutsoumpou/history ). He was brought earlier in the squad and needed a week or two for getting up to speed and be an effective replacement without much quality lost. He will be the keeper for the following 3-4 months unless he finds a better club for him willing to pay his release clause. With better physical stats and at a younger age, he will still train in his main Keeper skills to progress to levels that former keeper had before declining for the past 2 months. We're expecting over 82 Rating and very high keeper stats. Luckily he hasn't started declining in abilities which will work out in our favor on the long term, hopefully he will not be eager to retire.
The succession plan is to have youth squad keeper, 21yo 41 rated Aaron Pio ( https://www.virtualmanager.com/players/14134701-aaron-pio ) replace him at around age 26-27 depending on the team's progress. If needed an intermediate keeper will be found to match the future league and age requirements.

Speaking of succession planning, the following emblematic players will be also phased out during the coming seasons:
- 33yo 73 rated DC Daan Piessens bought initially for 865k credits on 13 january 2020 and after a few adventures abroad he was brought back each time for close to the same amount he was sold to but with better stats. He is to be replaced by former youth player Colm Magnam ( https://www.virtualmanager.com/players/13849083-colm-magnan ) now 25yo 62 rated.
- 32yo 70 rated MD Brett Turnbull bought over a year ago on 2019-10-11 for a mere 413k credits. We rejected a few offers on him, biggest of around 4.5M, and a key team member assuring the midfield stability while other midfields have came and gone. He still has at least 1-2 months of playing time left in him, provided he doesn't choose to retire. For now his replacement is still not ready and will need some time to be up to the standards expected in 2nd division. He's just turned 25yo and is rated 55, Shuusei Seiichi ( https://www.virtualmanager.com/players/13870310-shuusei-seiichi ) brought in for 1.67M, at the same time as the replacement Keeper Koutsoumpou, which was a very good deal.

In other news, this seasons we only applied to one sponsor which rejected our offer which will account for a 400k loss this season. Hopefully the stadium upgrade will bring some more cash.
With this expansion we set the basis for future promotion to 1st division and more final stages of cup matches with a bit of luck. Depending on revenue we'll be considering a new upgrade or investing more in better players to optimise the squad investment. Remaining cash sits at 5.5M (enough for a quick small upgrade) or for bringing in one quality player under or around 30yo that would need around 2 months to be a profitable investment.
But with the squad currently filled with promising players we're reluctant to block any space that would be used efficiently in training.

Be sure to follow up the press releases for future updates from our club.
All the best, and see you at the TOP!
