This is my last week in Vman, so it is fitting I leave a press release to track this.
Unfortunately the 10players team and a substitute were not enough to secure our last season in 1st division but 2nd is quite 'Allright'.
It's been almost 2 years ago that I started playing and for the most part it was satisfying as this game is designed to allow new users a chance to reach the top with a lot of work. The problem is that in order to reach that level you need a full time job to remain in the top, and the work required is trading. It is not while I joint the game, which was supposed to be a tactical game that attracted/was sold to me in the first place.
I discovered after some time invested that I'd should settle with the status quo and that development is slow in this game.
So while I've not had a top team and haven't reached the top in any meaningful way, I just played in first division and managed some #6-7 national rankings and #74 or something like that vifa rank, I'll settle with this and call it quits, since the current tactical limitations don't allow for better results with weaker teams and randomness is King.
Meaning that if you play long enough you'll be able to eventually reach the top for a brief period. That's just a small bait that if not aware if makes you think 'you made it' and you keep playing on, swimming again the current, which is the way this was designed in the first place.
It's been a long transition out of the game allowing me to sell some of the team players that made life in 1st division achievable, and now unfortunately I have to sell the core of my team trained since the release of the youth squad's release before its time. Hopefully I'll be able to get some of the credits at profit, but the sadness of not seeing them perform on the 1st div stage and in international cups is bigger than the potential loses in credits that I'll probably not use anymore.
This long transition allowed me to get another club setup in a different online football manager that I renamed my club for, and which is newer and has more active development and better tactics.
Unfortunately the VM staff preferred cosmetic improvement take precedence before tactic settings, and that might be important for some, but do much to me.
I've been waiting for long enough to see some individual orders for players, that the tactical orders are respected and they are effective with reduced overall randomness and more control to manager's choices.
But as every bird dies on its own language, so says one saying, so shall vman. At least for me anyway.
I've been close to canceling premium a year ago when the wait for youth teams got unbearable, and the week once posted I'll cancel my premium, the blog post from Dennis announced the long awaited news of the youth teams being ready. I won't hold my breath that the coincidence of another blog post releasing new tactical options will be announced, since in the plan for new year presented it was a small note in the end of the list of things that were a priority. But the category of tactical changes was with the "and others", which is probably be implemented if there is time. But in the last year I got the feeling that the dev is working part time on the development of the game, which is a sign I've seen in a previous manager before it died. Hopefully the reborn clone will be good enough to last as it now it's in its 2nd year, but I was unaware of it until recently,which made me realize I have a choice and vman must not be my 'prison'. Sometimes you just have to switch one addiction for another.
