Lokomotive Bryggen

2019-31: A Danish fairy tale

Written 5 August 2019, 10:09

As expected, the 2019-31 season was a walk in the park for Lokomotive Bryggen. 83 points and 89 goals in 30 matches sent a clear message to the geniuses in DBU: Bryggen is not a Division 4 side! Furthemore Bryggen managed to get into the last 16 of the Cup for the third time in team history. Unfortunately a narrow 0-1 defeat at the hands of Dabberne saw an end to Bryggens campaign.

Right midfielder Amrit Martel (4 goals in 201 appearances) from France is closing in on his 31st birthday and team management has been looking for his replacement for some time now. To the tune of 3.33M they found their man in 26 year old Leonard Bryce of Scotland who is a man, German Manager Sepp Piontek is looking forward working with: "Aber doch. He is hard working and very ambitious". Bryce scored his first goal for Bryggen after only 10 minutes in his debut against FC Woodwood so it's hard not to be optimistic.

A new central striker also found his way to the squad. The club replaced James Folland with frenchman Lassana Fumon: "Jamed was only just turning 30, and we didn't actually look for a replacement but 3.67M for a goalgetter like Fumon was an offer we couldn't refuse. Getting two years younger and a little better at that important position for only one million is a steal". Folland (99 goals in 150 matches for Bryggen) was sold to THV United in the Greek 2nd Division for 2.6M.

The most notheworthy thing of the season was probably that the tems star player, goalie Zivan Zagrosek from the Czech Republic got designated a so-called Silver Star, which means he is among the top players in the world. Piontek is proud: "Wir haben Zivan six seasons ago gekaufft and he his just getting better und besser. A true inspiration to the rest of Das Mannschaft"

It is also worth mentioning that defensive midfielder, Brazilian Aurelio Miguel finally scored his first goal for Lokomotive Bryggen in 254 matches in the 6-0 demolition of Kristhojokajo in the 3rd round of Landspokalturneringen

Bryggen posted a net result of +8.1M but neither club owner Ai-Pwn Yu nor Head Treasurer Mrs Enid Ford A'Kash was available for a comment.

We wish Lokomotive Bryggen the best of luck in next seasons Division 3 in Denmark - one of the toughest in the world.
