2019-32: More glory for Bryggen

Written 12 August 2019, 15:48

Lokomotive Bryggen came out of the 2019-32 season on top of the world. Or on top of the Danish Division 3 at the least. Only FC Brunello proved to be competitive but in the end, Bryggen prevailed by 3 points and took home the gold. We found German Team Manager Sepp Piontek a happy camper: “Ja, dass was super Geil! Once again we proved to the Arschgeigen in the Danish Federation how big a mistake it was to put us in Division 4 two seasons ago”.

A very significant change was made to the starting 11 in the season now bygone: Belgian central defender Raoul Scifo was scouted in the Brazilian Division 3 and for a measly 3.87M he was brought to Bryggen Arena. That unfortunately sends fan favorite, 30 year old Argentinian Paulo Biondi (363 matches for Bryggen) to the transfer market. Even though the price tag on Biondi is pretty low (1.7M), he still has not found a new club, but Swedish right back Åstrøm has already taken over as team captain.

Financially, Bryggen came back on track this season. Chief Dealer Lick Neeson explains: “The market has been very dry the last 2-3 seasons but it seems to have opened up now. We were able to make 8.4M from transfers which is well above our expectations”. All together Lokomotive Bryggen came out with a result of 10.6M, which is second best in club history.

As announced some seasons ago, Bryggen now moves to France for the last stop on the prolonged World Tour. Club owner Ai-Pwn Yu: “The people at the French federation has a lot more common sense that their Danish counterparts, so we have been put into Division 3. I expect that we can compete with the best in that Division, but we will see. Next season we will finally move back to Germany where it all started and stay there for a while. Our goal is to be a middle-of-the-road Division 2 team in 3-5 seasons”

We wish Lokomotive Bryggen the best of luck in France and predict a Top3 finish.
