Lokomotive Bryggen

2019-49: Bronze

Written 9 December 2019, 11:58

Season 2019-49 was another big milestone in the short life of Lokomotive Bryggen. The club has existed for only 42 seasons so it is indeed a sensational development that Bryggen was able to bring home the bronze trophy in the Bundesliga. Luck played a big part in the success as Bryggen finished with the same number of points and goal differential as FC SuperHumle. Since Bryggen had scored more goals than FC SuperHumle, the bronze was awarded to Bryggen with the smallest of margins. German Head Coach Sepp Piontek is obviously a happy man: “Noch ein mal am I totally lost for words. I am so proud of the Jungs. They work hard every day und ich finde es sehr verdient that they get something out of their effort”

Italian left midfielder Paganello Savoldi (446 games – fourth most in team history) was replaced with Frenchman Eric De Berthellemy (9.5M) but otherwise the roster was kept intact.

Danish right winger Alfred Bramskov reached 507 matches for Lokomotive Bryggen at the end of the season. He thereby passes fellow Dane and club legend Marcus Grauslund as the most capped player in team history.

The Financial statement showed a plus of 8.4M, which includes a 2.3M bonus from VIFA for getting into the Top50 teams of the world for the first time ever.
