2020-30: Bryggen sells house poet

Written 27 July 2020, 10:51

Season 2020-30 was a bit bumpy for Lokomotive Bryggen, and when Icelandic star striker Kristinn Johannes got injured for the remainder of the season with 13 games to play, the season was effectively over. Bryggen was never really in danger of relegation, but a 11th place finish cannot be satisfying. A semifinal in the DFB-pokal somewhat saved the season, but as so many times before, FC SuperHumle stopped Bryggen's campaign.

Half way through the season, Finnish central striker Terho Kosteikko (80 goals in 167 appearances) was sold for 26M and replaced by just-turned-28 Japanese Kensaku Ota (15M). The sale of Kosteikko put +3M on the books. Ota found the back of the net 10 times in his first 14 matches, so he's certainly off to a good start.

Bryggen didn't get to have a house poet for very long. After only 24 games, Scotsman Bernard Burns was shipped off to Liverpool XI Legends. That transaction resulted in a profit of nearly 6M. Bryggen's new number 10 is 27 year old Slovak Zdenko Hecl, brought in for 23.75M from Knivskarpe Sværdfisk FC.

Also, Canadian right midifelder Braedon Moores (1 goal in 87 matches) was sold just before the end of season so that he didn't get to play the Cup semifinal. He brought in 21.5M, which translates to a profit of 2.4M. 15.75M of that money was used to bring 28 year old Korean Ho-Bong Byun to Bryggen Arena.

Francis Cullen was sold with a heavy loss, but due to the other sales, Bryggen made a whooping profit of 14M.
