2020-36: Dissapointing 6th place

Written 8 September 2020, 11:01

Season 2020-36 started out no less than disasterous for Lokomotive Bryggen. The team got a pathetic six points in its first eight games! From that point it was a game of catch-up for the team - a game it couldn't really win. In the end, Bryggen was only five points from the silver medals, but had to accept a dissapointing 6th place finish. The silver medals went to Bob Jones FC - that club's first medal ever! Bryggen left the DFB-Pokal in the semifinals after a defeat to Atlanta Hawks at Bryggen Arena.

In the off-season, Portuguese team captain Cascavel left the club after 330 games. He was replaced by 28 year old Brazilian Osmar Bartier (15.6M). New team captain is the cousin of former tennis babe Anna Kournikova, Vassilyl.

The sale of Cascavel resulted in a financial minus of 9.4M - the biggest loss on a player in team history. Some other good trading meant that Bryggen could book a plus of 2.0M for the season after all.

Our expectations hasn't changed: We believe that with the current squad, Lokomotive Bryggen should be able to play for silverware. We acknowledge that the competition in the Bundesliga is tough, but this season's 6th place shouldn't be the standard.
