Double celebration

Written 12 November 2023, 11:54

Fans cheered as the final whistle blew to bring home our time in America.

We came second in the seniors league with 25 wins 3 draws and 2 defeats the defeats coming to 1st place and 3rd place finishers.Maurice Herman's again leading the line with 50 goals this season.

The youth team went all 22 games without dropping a single point for the second season in a row taking them to 44 wins in a row in the league.

As the youth team takes aim at division 3 it looks like it could be a big step up, having invested over 1 million in the youth team it appears they should manage to avoid relegation but time will tell.

The seniors are at a cross roads having spent a lot this transfer window to get the squad age down it is averaging around 24.5 which is a big difference from the average of 33 just a couple seasons back.

The investments have been good and the club is going in the right direction, it has cost our fan base nearly half the fans have gone. Way below 1000 which has drastically affected ticket receipts as we have made just over 400k on tickets this season compared to 600k the previous season.

With the promotions we hope to start filling the stadiums.

The clubs player value is above 5 million for the first time in a while.

Question is can we hold our own and avoid relegation.

Fans are nervous going ahead but Manager Scott insists both teams will avoid relegation.

With 700k in the bank we hope to upgrade the facilities this week if the fans start turning out to support the boys seeing as they worked so hard for the club this season.

We have seen a few players sold for profit and also some losses which worries the chairman.

A new season comes new expectations.
