Samuel Montagu FC

Our new training ground + more!

After careful consideration due to an underestimation of this seasons budget, Samuel Montagu's has payed the new prices and its training sessions will now take place at Wibbandune, after it's updated look. That is the main piece of news, but this does create a few knock-on affects.

As a result, less high-profile signings will be taking place this season. Balogun backs the decision, stating, "I would have loved to improve the squad at its core, but having a new training center is more important than improving a team which is already able to storm this league." Therefore, many new signings will be fringe players, with major signings instead taking place during other intervals.

Balogun has also defined his transfer strategy, as he targets younger players with more potential to take over from the older players. He specifically will be targeting the midfield, especially as the area currently doesn't have a single player under the age of 30.

However, the goal for Balogun is still the league title, but would expect just standard promotion. In a recent press conference he said, "Anything below [finishing second] is a disappointment. I want to see this team play in the highest honours and trophies."

Speaking on that, Samuel Montagu are proud to announce that they will enter the FA Cup and Newcomers Cup next season. This will replace the 'friendly calendar' which Balogun used last season, as he stated it as "not working to its full ability". However, that idea is not going to bed just yet, as he still plans to use sporadic friendlies for players with a lack of game time.

It is also with great pleasure that we can announce our new sponsors, Skandinaviske Luftlinjer. We are proud to represent the company and hope to see great success with it, on and off the pitch.
