After it was confirmed that Samuel Montagu wouldn't win the title, but still get promoted from Division 6 (G4), Ibrahim Balogun has shown his plans for the 2021/46 season, and they are big ones. After achieving all of his targets last season, Balogun will be looking to continue with progression at SMFC.

Speaking in a recent press conference, Balogun said, “The team was too good for the level. The league winners were also very good, and that's why we are both going up." In case you were unaware, Samuel Montagu lost out on the title to BSC Young Boys through goal difference.

Balogun has been praised by fans and others around the club, and in co-operation with the board, has vastly improved the turnout of fans while not having to drop the ticket prices. The club's VIFA ranking has exploded and is currently sitting at 6,808, which is 3,314 higher than it was at the start of the season.

After an extremely good season off the pitch, Balogun should be looking at north of 200,000 in transfer budget. However, Balogun plans to hold some of the money and get a few key additions if necessary. The club's 6808 VIFA ranking at the start of the season has now skyrocketed to 3930, but Balogun thinks that this team can do more. He said, "With 1 or 2 key signings, we have no problem [going up]. This is a great team, and they wouldn't be outside of place in Division 4, but they would need to survive. So, with the right spending? At least successively to Division 2."

When asked about the poor performances in the cups, he said, "It happens. The friendly calendar had to be reinstated for the welfare of the fringe players. Everyone in my squad has a plan. They're either there for them now, or the future. Some decisions may seem questionable, but I never go into something unprepared.

It's been another great season for Samuel Montagu, but Balogun has even bigger plans, and hopes that the club will extend his contract soon. The Monty will play in Divison 5 (G2) and will hope for continuous success. It may have not been unbeaten like Balogun wanted, but the boys came very damn close.
