Poraira, our greatest-ever player in terms of raw stats, retires today after exactly 2000 games for Katherines United. He will be sorely missed. The mantle of team captain now falls to Hafhidar Bentsson, while Elridge De Bruijn (who remains the only Kath. Utd. player to be picked for his country, at U17 level) becomes the player with the highest stats. Both will soon surpass Poraira, but will also soon leave our club. These players have served us well and they will be remembered.
