Sunbird Athletic rebrands as Nevada Wolfpack

On June 28th, 2016, in a meeting with the club's board of directors and managing staff, if was decided to move operations from our old home in Rotterdam, NED to a new location in Las Vegas, NV, USA.
As a part of a new contract deal with a new investor group seeking a stake in the club, the team will now compete in the US Soccer leagues and attempt to climb to the MLS in the seasons to come. The investors required for the club to move to their new state of the art expanded training facility, medical facility and stadium in Las Vegas.
The players have expressed their praises for the new facility and location of the club. Matthias Skinhøj (Silkeborg, DEN) commented: "The facility is about the same size as our previous one, however it looks very modern and has the best equipment for us to train with. The stadium looks very futuristic as well. The heat in Las Vegas will take some getting used to, however I am excited to be in the United States as I have never been in North America. I am blessed that my soccer talents have taken me abroad!"
Rookie and Las Vegas native Alex Timothy (Las Vegas, NV, USA) also expresses his delight with the decision: "As I was being scouted, I was really interested in joining Sunbird Athletic. The only problem was that I would have to travel all the way to Holland to be able to train and be on the team. Upon hearing that the team was moving here to Vegas made me jump for joy as it meant that I could join the team of my dreams and stay here in town!"
The club will debut in Division 5, Group 9 in the American Amateur Football Association and seeks to reach Division 2, the highest division in the AAFA in order to ultimately be promoted to the MLS.
