Wolfpack finding success in division 3

Written 12 August 2018, 22:24

Over the past 12 season since moving to Brazil, Nevada Wolfpack have experienced difficulties climbing the VIFA ranks. To much relief, success finally enters the MGM Oasis park last season; the Wolfpack equalled their highest place in club history in division 3 after 4 seasons in the tournament.

"A couple seasons ago, we were in an awkward promotion-relegation position, where we were too good for division 4, yet couldn't crack the bottom 4 in division 3," says the manager, "We are starting to catch our groove and staying in the 3rd division and finally placed top 4."

The Wolfpack finished in 4th position with 59 points, +29 goal difference, just behind Krafegar FC despite going 1-1 with them in the season. Most importantly, the Nevada Wolfpack were ranked in the top 1000 clubs in the world for the first time by the VIFA ranking agency. The team currently ranks #968 as of August 12th, beating its previous high of #1024 back in March. Blake Hudson topped the team's scoring list with 17 goals throughout the season, also tallying 8 assists for himself.

There have been little transfers as of late coming from the Wolfpack offices as the squad is fairly complete. The Wolfpack have however signed Jaba Gogichaishvili a 17 year old DL who has potential to become a wonderkid. Jaba will train and compete with Samuel Oswell for a starting position in the B team.

"We liked Jaba's athleticism, we take these stats into serious consideration. In the higher divisions you have to be able to battle with the best of them, and if a player exhibits these traits early on in their careers, you know they will develop well," says Lercio Camilo, head youth coach.

The Wolfpack look to improve on their strong finishes as of late. KKoma states: "We want to finish 3rd this season. Anything above that will be a bonus for us. We fair well against the teams in our division, we have to show that we can compete with the newly relegated teams and if we do, we can surely go up."

Nevada Wolfpack will open the season against Chachos United FC at 7:30PM on August 12th at Spike Stadium.
