Today an era ends

Written 9 March 2012, 20:07

Today an era ends at Chaz City Football Club. The greatest and the longest servant at our club, Miroslav Banketik, retired today. He played 758 games, while scoring 1168 goals, his final the winning goal against promotion rivals MasterSvanerne. Banketik signed in the season of 2011-38, and has played until this season, 2012-10. He scored a whopping 89 goals in our 4th place finish in the 6th divison of German Football. He helped play a significant part in keeping our place in Divison 5, while also getting us promoted 5 times from Division 6. His replacement, Rik Tiemmessen, can hopefully pull of the same fete.

We wish Miroslav the best for the future, with his wife and his young child, the manager added.

A little side note, his number of number 8 has been officially retired from use, unless the player surpasses Banketik's records, or his son does.
