Bosworth routed 'unfairly'

FC Blyski Atsiskaitymu fought their way into the semifinals where they will face either Sildegapet FC, Johns Army or even Market Bosworth as the lucky loser. However, the second leg was not as one sided as the final score suggested and Market Bosworth were unlucky to lose so heavily.

It was a fresh and young FC Blyski Atsiskaitymu that took to the field but the same Market Bosworth side was fielded. And this difference in lineups was partly to explain for the dominance of Bosworth in the first half hour. They had over 70% of the possession but strong defending from FC Blyski Atsiskaitymu meant that they only managed one shot on target and several from distance off target. However, totally against the run of play, Levon Gehrke opened the scoring for Atsiskaitymu after a long breakaway run from Dou-guam Lum who set the goal scorer up with a simple tap in. Market Bosworth, even after this setback remained unscathed until the half time whistle.

After the break, the game restarted in a similar fashion to how it started, Market Bosworth refusing to be defeated. But stiff defending meant that the first effort Bosworth had of any note came in the 71st minute when Lear Lobbley missed a half open goal when the ball fell to him out of several players and he struck it wide of goal. With everyone piling forward, the inevitable happened, Danilo Kupets broke the offside trap and ran clear to score Atsiskaitymu’s second of the evening and secure a spot in the last four. However, Bosworth were determined to fight as they still had a lucky loser place to fight for and continued to press for a goal. Moments later, Gilles Coolssens broke free and looked like scoring a third, only to be denied by a glove and the post. But a quick corner saw Dou-guan Lum left unmarked at the far post and a slick passing move saw him tap home a third goal for Atsiskaitymu.

The game had started far from evenly and Bosworth had had the majority of the chances, but by the end, it was Levon Gehrke who made sure that it was Atsiskaitymu who completed the rout and progressed to the semi finals. For Bosworth, they did not deserve such a defeat and it did not reflect the one sided nature of the match for the majority of the match. But when Atsiskaitymu have small chances, they take them. This game highlights their ability in front of goal and will surely serve as a warning for their semi-final opponents and beyond.
