Devils head into semis

Cheesey Devils were the first side to qualify for the semi finals after beating Auction Finished 2-0 and leaves Auction Finished on the verge of leaving the tournament early if results do not go their way. Two goals in four minutes from the Devils midway through the second half sealed all three points as once again they dominated possession and shots.

Fumiya Yamazoe and Jaime Darre were the first two to record shots on target and really should have done better. Yamazoe’s header was superbly saved before Darre smashed the resulting loose ball onto the post from little more than six yards. Branislav Kostyantyn was unlucky though to see his long range free kick chip the crossbar with Auction’s keeper Esdras Castellanos totally beaten. However, Auction Finished were not to be beaten as easily as they were against Sildegapet Fc and held on until the break with the scores still level.

However, after the break the one way traffic continued and Fumiya Yamazoe really should have opened the scoring after Cadarn Clocker put the Japanese forward through on goal but he failed to capitalise on the incredible skill his team member showed. The clearance was not good either though from the hosts and Darre should have at least tried to trouble the keeper when he collected the loose ball. Although the keeper was out of the equation, he failed from 40 yards to score. However, doom for Auction Finished was spelt out clearly when Yamazoe was played onside by a defender and the ball was finally ready to hit the back of the net to give the Devils the lead. Three minutes later, Kai Køster slid into Kostyantyn bringing the Ukrainian down. The challenge deserved a red card but he only received a yellow. But the punishment followed as Darre stepped up and smashed the resulting free kick into the back of the net in astonishing style. Despite a last charge by Auction Finished, Cheesey Devils held onto all three points to book their place in the semi-finals

The Devils look a very accomplished side that could be now regarded as the favourites to take the title. Auction Finished now have to beat Bolton Wanderers to have any hope of qualification while hoping Sildegapet lose to Wanderers. However, goal difference would mean that Sildegapet are almost guaranteed to finish above Auction Finished. The crucial match of the group will almost certainly lie between Bolton Wanderers and Sildegapet.
