Josef Kiestra Leaves Cottage

Written 2 October 2012, 17:52

Josef Kiestra left the Cottage today on the first day of the January transfer Window after he wanted to finish his competitive life back in Scotland where his family has moved. The striker moved on for a fee of 700,000 Credits, proving how much he is now feared around Sweden. He played 680 times for the whites and scored 385 times, ranking him fifth on the all time scoring list record and 8th on the most number of appearances. His loss will be surely felt as Cottage fans paid tribute to him with a standing ovation after his last game at the Cottage in the NCC against Chris Allstars. He did the crowd and the cheering justice at the match, proving what a loss he will be.

Chris Allstars took the lead in the 43rd minute and it looked as if Sildegapet were going out. However, in the 84th minute, a defending error saw Kiestra smash home an emphatic equaliser before, just seconds before the full time whistle, he scored probably the best goal that has ever been scored at the Cottage when he smashed it home from 47 yards from a free kick to win Sildegapet the game.

We wish him the best of luck with his future.
