Sildegapet have struggled to help the club after their off field troubles increased significantly with no wins in the first four fixtures of their season. Last night it was confirmed that the club known now as Sildegapet FC may be in its last season as the club has struggling finances. A bid has been looked into by the club management but this would include a club name change to 'Olympic Sildegapet'. The board has complained to the Norwegian FA that a name change would destroy their heritage but if the current situation continues there will be no alternative.

Last season Sildegapet were also in deep trouble but some fantastic results saw a ten match win streak that pulled Sildegapet just six points clear of the relegation zone. This season, they only have one draw after 4 games with a goal difference of -9, the second lowest in their league.
