Interview

So Felix, congratulations on your 700th cap, how is life here at the Cottage?

Its great, it took some time to find my feet and I began life as an outsider to the team. I was never really part of it and there were times that I wanted to leave. However, everyone assured me I would have my part to play and as we have invested in a young team, I am finding life brilliant in central defence. Its a fantastic feeling to have played 700 times for the club already and I am only 23. I love being part of this new team that has a great future.

Maccarrons record number of appearances is 1547 and you are already eight in the list of most number of appearances, will top spot become yours?

I don't know what will happen in the future, I really don't. Some of the new guys that they have bought have fantastic potential and I am really having to fight for my position in the team. I hope I will make it at least to the 1000 appearance mark as, like Maccarron, my career seemed over until I was offered a chance here. I jumped at the chance and now I am having really good fun playing.

What about the Bernese Oberland Cup?

We progressed through the group stages but only just held on. It was certainly nervy but we are looking to try and win the competition for the first time in our history. It should be a great chance of getting some more silverware. Although some of our opposition look to be really strong.

What are your aspirations for the future?

For the moment, just staying with the club would be perfect. I love the place and it has become my home. The training facilities here are perfect and the manager is nice. To play more for the club and to begin to return to the form that we had when we reached the NCC final and led Division 4.
