Sildegapet face uphill struggle

Written 19 March 2013, 17:57

Sildegapet will face a struggle to qualify for the next round of the wooden spoon after losing 2-0 away from home. They are up against the very strong side of Bexley FC in the quarterfinals and their opponents will know that one goal in the return leg at the Cottage and Sildegapet are all but down.

It was not Sildegapet's finest hour defensively, considering they had previously snatched 0-0 draws from far superior teams in the group stages, where they finished 6th out of seven but managed to pick up 9 points. This 2-0 defeat means that the whites have to score at least twice and keep a clean sheet to remain in the competition, a difficult proposition.

So although it was a relatively good competition for the whites, they will have a wait a while longer until they hit gold.
