Back to Sweden

Written 19 August 2014, 19:03

Following our very succesful trip to Brazil, we returned to Sweden.

In our first season we finished 5th.

Despite this, with some hard preseason training and good fotune, we finished an incredible 2nd with 67 points. It was, as the previous had been, very tight. However, whereas last season we lost our final two games to finish fifth, this season we won our final five games to snatch promotion by one point.

Many thought that division four would be a step too far. Despite this they fought hard to survive, which they did by the skin of their teeth. In winning their last game, they registered 27 points, escaping relegation by just two points. Both teams immediately below them lost their final games respectively, handing the whites a reprieve.

It was the lowest tally of points that the whites have got in a season and survived. Furthermore, they were a staggering 18 points off of the team above. So expectations for this season were very low. But the whites, after 8 games, are threatening to record their highest finish, the previous being third.

However, we realize there is a long way to go but we wish the team the best of luck as we target a top half finish.

In transfer news, Spion Kop are rumoured to having placed a bid on McNelley. Other than that, very little has happened but with further signings possible in the near future.
