Sildegapet FC

Into Round 4 NCC and league round up

Sildegapet FC have seen off Twickenham Wanderers in a hugely tense game at The Green.

Wanderers opened the scoring in the 21st minute, Saalih Majid scoring his 175th goal for the blue and white army. The whites never looked like they should never have been given a route back into the game, but a poor clearance allowed Dawud to feed Heli Echave to score yet another goal this season early in the second half.

A period of pressure from Sildegapet FC almost came to a second when Nukarta Salomonsen flashed a shot just wide of the post having beaten several defenders on a mazy run.

Wanderers soon reasserted themselves and will be left kicking themselves as their final ball could never find the intended target and the Cottagers made them pay when Dawud and Echave once again combined and left the Spanish forward to slot home in the 119th minute.

This is the third consecutive time that we have beaten a team from a higher division showing that Sildegapet are more than capable of playing at division 4. Following their first promotion last season, they are attempting to secure back to back promotions but nothing is a forgone conclusion with them lying just a point ahead of third and right in the mix for the second promotion spot.
