The Title Run In

Also, rather an essay this week.

Who will win the league?
With five left to play, it is tighter than ever at the top. Defensive Masters, the Madmen, currently lead the way, a point clear of second placed D. City. The Madmen have conceded just four this season, and have been turning their usual 0-0 draws into 1-0 wins, so surely they have the advantage. They hold that lead but have never won the league before.
Second placed D.City, however, Have won the league before, and a regularly in the title chase, they are in terrific form, but finish with four away games on the bounce, including two against top six opposition. Three points behind the leaders, with just five left to go, three teams are tied on 72 points. Athletico are third, they are the second highest scorers in the league, and jointly hold the record for most league titles. They're long overdue a title win, and have led the way until just a few games ago. They have games against the top sides too, but importantly, they are at their Kennelside fortress.
Also on 72 points, fourth place Dynamo, going well, they are the only side in the league with a 100% winning record at home in the league this season. They aren't pretty, but are effective, and they have won a league title before.
Fifth placed G. Utd are also on 72 points, and always give themselves a chance. They hold the joint record with Athletico for most titles won, and are the defending champions this season, having pipped D. City to the title last season. They have an away trip to Kennelside in the run in, but G.Utd never say die, and are known for being the comeback kings in the league. They score more late and stoppage time goals than anyone else.
Five points behind the lead, in 6th, G.Utd's Muxloe Bridge counterparts, R.Utd are in danger of slipping away from the title running, they MUST get a result away at Athletico tonight or they'll be far behind, though they will be mathematically still in it, it'll be difficult. R.Utd are rock solid opposition though, and have already won silverware in the Trophy Final this season.
The last of the title hopefuls, are seventh placed M. Town, and eighth placed T. City. T. City have won the league before, just once, but both they and M.Town are way back on 67 points, to the Madmen's 75. T. City have the easiest run in of the lot though, they have all five remaining games against teams in the bottom half of the table, and can realistically expect five wins out of five coming in. Seventh Placed M.Town, well, they are the league leading scorers with 101 in 33 games, red hot going forwards and possessing the best free kick taker in the league. They have a claim of being the best side in the league, never to have won the title, and surely, with the way they rack the goals up, it's only a matter of time. Will this be their season?
Regardless of who manages to do it, it promises to be exciting to the last. The last few seasons have all gone down to final day.
Thoughts, opinions, and interest welcome.
Hope you enjoyed a peek into the league running~

Final league night tonight, title still to be decided. Advantage Athletico, though, they lead going into final day, a point clear of D.City and G.Utd, and two clear of Dynamo.
T. City and Madmen are both three points back, and mathematically, can still reach the top, however, Athletico's huge goal difference makes it practically impossible. No-one else at the top can catch them.
