Finn-alists Again

Written 19 May 2013, 10:26

Dynamo Groby have once again proved a measure of success with their Finnish project, as they have reached their second ONT World Cup Final. The first time the club reached this stage, we went on to win the competition, though this time round, Dynamo will be heavy underdogs for the title. Current defending Champions Afghanistan stand in the way of another Finland victory, a win for either side would make them the first club to win it twice. Both clubs are also competing in their second ONT finals, which is an impressive record that both can be proud of, reaching the finals twice in three attempts.
Both Dynamo Groby and Afghanistan came through tense Semi-Finals, and the third/fourth place play off promises to be fiercely competed once again. This final could easily have been the third/fourth placed play off, as Dynamo Groby had to fight back against Heise Utd, Dynamo were 3-0 down by half time at home in the first leg, but got themselves back into the game at 3-3, then won away from home to go through. Defending Champions Afghanistan needed an away goal in Spain to edge past Valencia OF, having drawn 2-2 on aggregate. A credit to the efforts and quality of all the semi-finalists involved.
The club would like to wish Afghanistan all the best for the games, and would also call upon all the supporters of either side to get behind their team and make it a special one.

It's gonna be tough to beat them.

Yeah, I know. But we shall see. I don't expect to win, but I didn't expect to beat Heise, either, and though some would argue, from three down we shouldn't even be in the final, we are, and so we'll have a go and see what happens. smiley
