Successful Season

Written 2 November 2014, 12:40

Long break between announcements from the Dynamo Groby press team, but a statement issued today congratulating the manager and the players for a season of relative success. Boosted by the return of Uuno Salmelainen, the successor to the legendary Taavi Litmanen before his move away from Vale Park, the team and supporters enjoyed a good time this season.
The team surprised many, by putting in a cup run lasting all the way to the Quarter Finals of the Scottish Cup, before finally being outclassed by the Premier Division champions. Dynamo also managed to secure a third placed league finish, and though a little distance behind the top two, the side managed to beat both of them in front of raucous home crowds at Vale Park, and even did the double against the eventual title winners.
When asked to comment, the manager had the following statement to make:- "We've had a great season, and the players deserve credit for the work they have put in on and off the field. The league season is our bread and butter, and they have been consistent throughout, with a mean defence, and the two forwards have gone well this time too. The cup run gave us all a lift, the players, the behind the scenes staff, and most importantly, the supporters themselves. Hopefully, this season is the lift we all need, to encourage us to believe in ourselves and that we belong at this level. Whilst it has been a good season, we must make sure we don't dwell on this success, and continue to work hard in every aspect of the clubs day to day running, to keep moving in the right direction, and bring more successful seasons to Vale Park."
