Dynamo Groby Statement Regarding Latest VM Developments

-- New Ownership Of VM --

Dynamo Groby would like to wish the new owner of Virtual Manager all the best going forwards, and we look forward to future developments, some of which have already been proposed, which we will comment on below.

-- Youth Squads --

The way the club is currently structured, we are minded to come down tentatively in favour of this development. We will await further detail, on how it will all work, but it should provide a way to help develop our exciting Finnish talents. We hope the health and wellbeing of our young players is not negatively impacted by playing many more minutes, with the risk of injuries, and that those extra minutes will be rewarded with training xp. Otherwise there would be little point in any change to the current model, where youths actually benefit from less game time, as any injuries can be devastating to the development of the player.

-- Tactics Update --

We at Dynamo would welcome a more in depth model than the basic system we have currently, in order to gain the best from the players we may have at our disposal at any one time.

-- Sustainable Club --

This wasn't touched on in the latest VM statement, but is something we at Dynamo Groby feel very strongly about and will continue to do so. At present, running a sustainable club that can make progress is very difficult, without playing the transfer market heavily to trade players for profit. As a club we currently run at a very small profit margin on day to day, week to week business. This is usually around 500,000C a season. At our level, as a solid Division 3 side, this would mean we would take an eternity to be able to gather the resources to progress. Especially if we had to replace retiring players like for like. It would not be sustainable.
To give an insight -- The income we gain from ticket sales, sponsorship and league media rights and prizes, as well as the occasional cup prize fund just about covers our day to day operating costs of wages and stadium maintenance. Extra costs such as physio and player injury recoveries tip us into a loss making situation.
Our main income stream is to sell players as soon as we have developed a young talent to replace them. When the young talented players reaches 22, we place them into the first team line up, and the older player is then sold. This is how our club makes a profit. Obviously this is a long-term game. This profit is not usually huge amounts, as out of that money we then have to bring in more young talented Finnish players to develop to be able to continue the cycle. Long-Long term we are a profitable and sustainable club by this method, but to be able to make an assault on the upper reaches of the league will take time. For smaller clubs, further down the league, reaching higher levels is even more difficult. We feel a great deal of sympathy for clubs that do not have the infrastructure we have here at Vale Park to be able to run the long term game we do effectively.

Everyone here at Dynamo Groby will continue to work hard to provide our fans and followers with a successful team going forwards, and look forward to more development details as they come, to see how best we can use these developments to benefit our club.
