Not Quite Close Enough

Written 16 October 2022, 18:35

Dynamo Groby last season went within a whisker of a first Top Division title in the Allsvenskan. In amongst the top teams fighting it out all the way, Dynamo were leading with three to play, knowing three wins would secure the title. Sadly, a home win wasn't enough when paired with a draw and defeat away from home in the final games, the manager stating he was gutted by those final couple of games going against his side having worked so hard to be there.

"We're gutted. It's the closest we've ever come, and we might not get a better chance of securing a top flight title. As a club, manager, players and fans, we've got to dust ourselves off now and put this behind us and try and go again next season. It's a tough one to take, to have it in our hands and not be able to produce our best at the vital moment. It's going to be hard to go again, but we'll do our best and hope the first ever top division title for the club will not be far away."

It will come eventually! I remember the days when even the possibility of top flight football was in the realm of dreams for the Dynamo, and now look where you are!
