Season round up (2015-14) and poor start to n

Written 8 April 2015, 20:46

We finished the season in a disappointing 2nd place with 87 points, and +99 gd (9 goals behind first). Early season form and a bad run in the middle cost us the title.

Our team value was at a record 3,340,500 C at the end of the season.

Top scorer: Ladislav Štefánik (FR) - 33 goals (rating = 25)

Most man of the matches: Patrizio Eruzione (ML) - 5 (rating = 27)

Highest average rating (in league): Patrizio Eruzione (ML) - 8.43 (rating = 27)

Biggest sale: Mauritius Flach Beck for 450,000 C

Biggest buy: Patrizio Eruzione and Felix Lirio for 350,003 C

We were going into next season (in a league we topped all the way back in 2011-09) with high hopes, our team with an average rating of 22, at least 4 points better than any other team. A bad string of results at the start of the season, including 3 draws and a loss, has left us 9 points off top with 2 games in hand. We should still be able to mount a challenge for top. After this poor run of form we changed the tactics mentality from all out to offensive, hoping it would help us concede less goals.

We have been knocked out of both cups already. Our loss in the NCC 2nd round particularly disappointing, a 2-1 loss to a superior team that we had dominated in shots but his goal keeper got man of the match. In the FA cup we lose to a div 3 team in a respectable 4-2 match.

In terms of money we have sold off 2 players for 1.1 million credits, making good profit off both. This has weakened our team slightly, down to 21 team rating but strong replacements were already ready for both.
