"3 games. 7 points"

City of Ely manager, Alfie Tate, has explained how he believes 7 points will secure him the league title. Or one match. He believed beating the team in second place would win them the title, but that a draw would also secure them the title.

"There's a seven point requirement for us to win the league. That is all. We play, two teams from the bottom four. Correct? We will win them. That, there, is six points to us. Those points are already ours. But, inbetween those matches, we play, second placed team. We are already two points clear of them, so a draw, will win us the title, and we will be between two and eight points clear of them when the season finishes. Come the end of the season, we have lifted the league title, we have gained promotion to division 4, and we would have secured our second successive promotion. Job sorted."

We then asked Tate, what would happen if his side were to lose to the second placed team. He replied with the following.

"We have been preparing for weeks for this game. Training especially towards the way they play, and approach a match. Ughh, we are confident we will win. Remember, we only need a draw. That is all. We don't have to go out to win the game."

This resulted in speculation, that Tate may approach to a defensive tactic towards the game.

"Why would we need to defend? We have a goal difference of fifty-two plus, so that there, proves, that we can score goals and beat teams affectively. Also, you are forgetting, we have already beaten this team earlier in the season. 3-1 if I remember correctly! The pressure is on them since they have been in this division longer. We are newcomers here, so the pressure is on the experienced team to beat the youngsters. David versus Goliath."
