I've now looked at the top division history for all 14 countries.

3,731 teams (excluding deleted clubs) have played in a top division.

The table below shows the all-time vman top division (including all 14 countries) standings (16 teams with most points):

Team Aerox has played the most top division matches at 26,642.
Team Aerox has the best all-time top division GD at +38,049.
Team Aerox has most all-time division points at 55,574.
Deleted clubs have played a total of 1,468,976 top division matches with an overall GD Of -130,685 and total points of 1,997,087.

Excluding deleted clubs, 542 teams have won a top division at least once. Deleted clubs have won a top division title 2,678 times. The teams with the most top division titles (limited to teams with >100) include:
  • Atlanta Hawks - 294
  • Team Aerox - 226
  • CaPa FC- 212
  • FC HimmelBold - 194
  • liverpools year - 193
  • Team Svumpukkel - 165
  • Pedersen FK - 163
  • Whitehawks - 161
  • Faciato FC - 147
  • Real Madrid CF - 143
  • FC John John - 133
  • FC Gullwings - 130
  • Nykøbing Falster BK - 130
  • Trex POWER - 130
  • Aarhus United FC - 128
  • Nobr - 128
  • Longkicker Wizards FC - 124
  • Ulm Warhawks - 112
  • Centenary Stand - 109
  • The Danish Vikings - 107
  • Brøndby - 105

The only team to score over 90 points in top division season was by a deleted club, with 92 points in the Premier League (England) season 2009-24. Weirdly, there were more than 16 teams in the division that season?

Otherwise, across all top divisions the maximum point total of 90 has been achieved 285 times. Excluding deleted clubs, teams to have won a top division with the maximum 90 points 10 of more times are as follows:
  • Team Aerox - 19
  • Nykøbing Falster BK - 14
  • Andet Holdet - 10
  • CaPa FC - 10

The best GD in a season is +187 by a deleted club in the Premier League (England) season 2009-07.
The best GD in a season by an active club was +186 by Team Lokvenec in Serie A (Italy) season 2008-47.
The worst GD in a season is -263 by Étoile Lumière in the Superligaen (Denmark) season 2022-39.

The lowest points to win a top division is 53. This has currently occurred 6 times, most recently by AFC Reeperbahn (who tied on points, winning by GD) in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A (Brazil) season 2025-20.
The lowest GD to win a top division is +1 by IF Statskundskab in Ligue 1 (France) season 2020-44

The record for most points by a relegated club is 42 by Brians Brigade in Ligue 1 (France) season 2021-45.
The record highest GD for a relegated club is +19 by Krabby Patty FC in Die Bundesliga (Germany) season 2019-35

If anyone wants to get stats about their own clubs performance in the top divisions (e.g. total points, GD, number of titles etc.) just let me know.

Excluding deleted clubs, 542 teams have won a top division at least once. Deleted clubs have won a top division title 2,678 times.

Congrats on all your analysis. For me, this is one of the most revealing outcomes in terms of the current status of VMAN. It's just not ad engaging as it once was.

To be clear, countries top divisions have been won by now deleted clubs 2,678 times total as opposed to 2,678 individual deleted clubs having won at least one title. Some individual deleted clubs will have won 100's of top division trophies but as they are deleted all I can see on the season archive is (deleted club).

22% of total top league titles are held by deleted clubs, which means 78% of top league titles won still have an existing (although not necessarily active) account on the game.

I think inactive teams are deleted after a few years to free up names and with the data going back to 2007 (and the game itself to 2004?) many people will naturally grow bored and move on... I can't think of many games or websites I've used consistently for 10+ years without major breaks. There will be people playing Virtual Manager today who were not even born back in 2007 when the archive begins!

That said, its certainly true that the game isn't as popular as it once was. Irrespective of any lack of development with the game itself, I think this is predominately due to a broader move away from websites and forums to apps etc. Virtual Managers sole developer previously stated that he does not advertise the game as they were advertising at a loss (most players who found the game via adverts stopped very shortly afterwards). In the developers latest blog post he talks about working on a mobile friendly design... however concerningly there has been no update since February: https://www.virtualmanager.com/blog/1131-countdown-to-milestone-1

I tend to use a PC as opposed to a mobile to play the game so this wont directly effect me but I do hope it will attract/open up more people to the game... I am very intrested in individual instructions to make the game more about tactics/football management than a training/sales simulator... but whilst on the to-do list I don't think there is a timeframe?

OK, a misinterpretation on my part. Perhaps not as dire as I thought.

Really great work mate, I'm so glad that I have come back after a hiatus and that you have trawled through so many great stats - will look to get the original post updated.

VM has such potential I think when it comes to statistical analysis

Have you got the highest points for a second place finisher, as the stat on the original post is bound to be wrong - I think you can have someone with a lot higher than 72 points finishing 2nd

But how many newcomers cups has Paul won?

An interesting season for a top 3 comparison, has to be one of the highest top 3s on record.
