I’ve found that tactics and formation matter. And having a tactic that doesn’t match your formation works against you. 3+ forwards with shoot on sight for example would work against you because you are giving up possession in the other 2/3 of the field. 4-3-2-1 would probably be a better setup for sos using 5 mids for possession. Every tactic can work, but without an appropriate formation would have a slight disadvantage. Obviously player skill plays the biggest role along with energy, but when the gap in skill is small, the tactics and formation matters more. Ideally you’d make a formation and tactic for every match, but who really cares that much? lol
