To make use of national teams there should be a competition ran once every four seasons (last week of every month real world time)
a National team cup, U23s cup and U17s cup which is ran during the normal season but its separate to the main game so the international games are excluded from using energy, injuries or bookings for the players as they will be playing games for their club at the same time.
The competitions would consist of the top 16 nations selected by calculating the top 16 teams with the highest combined player stats and then spread over the week there would be a group stage and followed by a knockout stage and the winners would be crowned before the update on Sunday
The prize would be that each football player in the winning team would then have a gold cup symbol next to there name on their profiles and those who win the U23s & U17s would have the same but with U23s or U17s in brackets next to the cup symbol. It could be suggested for the football players in the runners up team they could receive silver trophies as well.
This would make it an achievement for your players to be selected for their national teams and to watch cheering your players on! It also wouldnt effect the main game as it wouldnt add a negative effect on players energies, injuries or bookings.
