Trainers retiring?

The problem was that the old system was being abused, by one player (who just happened to be Denmark-based) in particular, but several others understood how to shortcut the system. The scammer (you can use your own alternative noun) would search databases* to find unallocated 20-20-20 coaches and then share them amongst their followers before other players were able to find them, leaving the rest of us looking in vain as all the best coaches had gone, hoovered up by the aformentioned.

The game designers decided that rather than sanction those players for abusing the system, as should have happened in my opinion, and stopping that practice (I would call it cheating but their defenders denied that they were doing anything wrong...), they instead came up with a whole new system which by popular consent is even worse.

There were alternative (I would say prefereable) suggestions made by players which, of course and as is usual, were totally ignored by the game designers. I only mention in passing these suggestions generally came from non-Denmark-based players. These included rationing the 20-20-20 coaches to x number per team, being able to train coaches so that you could improve a 19 stat to a 20 stat over time, or simply not allowing a few players to share with their followers details of unallocated 20-20-20 coaches from (still unclear) *special database lists which were inaccessible to ordinary players.

In summary, the original system was abused, those abusing it were never sanctioned and the "solution" was a load of rubbish that pleased nobody.

If I have any of this worng, please feel free to comment but Im pretty sure this is an accurate account of what befell.

Rolf.

I get why it changed but it's cost me 500,000 credits to find an 18/19 coach...

Just completed a series of 10 searches over a few days. 97.5K spent and picked up a 20/20/20 trainer albeit 58yo and a 20/20 youth/keeper trainer. Pleased with that return.

Been searching for a trainer now 42 searches and counting, best ive yielded in the results is a 19/19... 735,000 credits... the old system was labourious but at least you could find a good trainer after a Littlestone searching.

Bring back the old system.
9 more searches since this post 157,500 credits and ive contracted a 19/20 for 71,875 credits.

971,375 and still searching.

Unfortunately someone has been spamming the English/international forums with links advertising dodgy gambling websites.

I suspect it could be bot accounts as the clubs are sometimes only 30 minutes old before posting. The replies sounded like ChatGPT and replied to months or even years old forum threads. Perhaps this is a method to bypass moderation as the next day or so the posts would be edited from the generic ChatGPT style reply to include links to gambling sites.

I've raised a support ticket and the developer is now aware. Perhaps a system could be implemented where new clubs can't link to external websites on the forums? Its just shame that this could waste the developers time, which could instead be spent working on custom tactics and mobile-friendly design.

In the meantime the forum moderators are removing the posts when they appear and seem to be doing a good job as I haven't seen any of these posts during the past week. Have you guys seen a similar trend on the Danish language forums?

As far as I am aware, while there was no "special database" as so to speak, in my opinion you are correct that the old system was being abused.

I read through the Danish language forums using Google Translate (so could have misinterpreted this) but believe that with the old staff system, a limited number of new trainers were created at a specific time each day. Some Danish users realised this and because staff have incremental ID's, these users were able to either manually or using scripts (which I suspect was the case) scrape each new trainer when created and find or hire the 20/20s.

While it can be frustrating and costly, the new system is much more fair and not open to abuse. 20/20s can be very hard to come by but for most mangers a 20/19 isn't hard to find and will do the job.

So you can run scripts on players on the transfer market/auctions?
I don't believe you should, as per rule 1.7. Scripts and bots: "Any use of bots/scripts is prohibited. It is only allowed to play through the interface provided by Virtual Manager."

As posts above have highlighted, the old system was unfair and flawed. While it can be a pain to find 20/20 trainers the new system is much improved in my opinion.

Which search are you using? I found 'TV campaign' to be the most successful but could just be placebo!

TV campaigns for the last two/three weeks. I get things shouldn't just be handed on a plate but jesus.
