Virtual Manager 2009

Rasmus Rønn Nielsen, The Dudes 7 January 2009, 10:37

Let us start by wishing you a happy new year - and thank you for 2008. Virtual Manager has had an amazing 2008. For the fourth year in a row we managed to double the number of active users. We are incredibly proud this, of course. As some of you know, 2008 was also the year where the game took it's first steps outside Denmark from which it originates. After adding the languages English/Swedish/Spanish in September we have seen an incredible increase of users from outside Denmark . We have always said that our ultimate goal is to create the greatest and most popular manager game in the world, and we're still aiming for that goal.

2009 will be an exciting year where a lot of things are going to happen in Virtual Manager. From 2008 we learned that it is often a good idea to focus on optimising existing popular features rather than always creating new features. Thus, the start of the new year will generally be used to optimise the game in various ways. This includes for example to make a new and better scout system, an improved mail system (the mail system is made 3-4 years ago and is hence very outdated!), a new player waging system (to limit the inflation going on in the upper leagues), and much more. Generally we will ask ourselves: "What features means a lot in the game, and how can we improve these?" To put it another way, we feel it is better to improve a feature that 95% of our users use, rather than developing a new one 10% will be using. In this way we can satisfy the most users as possible.

This does not mean that there will be no innovations in 2009, however. We continue our tradition of adding new exciting features to the game, which you and your friends can explore. We have several exciting ideas in the pipeline that you all will hear more about in the future.

Also, we will be spending some time making Virtual Manager available in even more languages.

All things considered, we look forward to a very exciting 2009 in Virtual Manager!
