Version 2.2.3 released - pay via Paypal!

Bubbles, FC Sunnyvale Developer 28 July 2009, 13:21

Yesterday we updated Virtual Manager to version 2.2.3. The update was performed without any down time, so you may not even have noticed.

The main point of the update was to lay the groundwork for an improved shop, and to roll out a number of bug fixes. The shop now supports Paypal as a payment option, and it has been prepared for subscription-based products.

Here's a complete list of changes in the version:
Shop: Entirely new shop, prepared for much more exciting and varied products.
Club profile: You can now give VM Premium as a gift to another club, by clicking the "Give VM Premium" link on their club profile.
Bug fix: Latest poll is now shown on the Status > Communication page.
Bug fix: You no longer have to re-login for language setting changes to take effect.
Season update: Automatic stop and start of the contract update and auction completion scripts. Lessens the risk of auctions being completed too late on Sunday evening after the season update.
Players: We've made a new cleanup script which will clean up the players with extremely long contract periods due to the old banning policies.
Artciles: Editors and Admins can now delete articles
Bug fix: You will once again receive notification when your support ticket has been answered.
Bug fix: The issue that caused certain scout reports to show a proxy error has been fixed.
Players: Players can now be created with a name that has already been used - but only when using automatically generated names.
Logo and banner validation: Validators now have the option of typing in an explanation when they reject a picture.
Performance: General performance improvement across the entire site.

Subscription-based products have not yet been added to the shop, since we are awaiting certification for our subscription handling system from our credit card payment provider.

We hope you enjoy the improvements we've made in this version.
