Scheduled database maintenance Sunday night

Rasmus Rønn Nielsen, The Dudes 5 February 2010, 17:08

Virtual Manager's socalled encoding (codebase and database) is Sunday night converted into the UTF8 encoding. The reason for this conversation is the following:
We've run into some technical compatibility problems with the old data encoding (ISO-8859-1)
The new encoding enable us to translate Virtual Manager into more languages
As a normal user you will not be able to tell the difference of this change. Everything will look the same, but "under the hood" all communication will happen in UTF8.

Converting our database will take quite some time. We estimate the worst case to be that the entire conversion process will take 8 hours.

We will close down the site and start the conversion around 11:15pm Sunday evening. The site will be reopened as soon as we're done. Because of this, you can expect the match executor to lag some matches during Monday morning.

Have a nice weekend :-)
